 | Prior to their demise in December 2005, The components for Besson instruments were produced in the Schreiber factory in Germany. The Besson name was sold to the Buffet Crampon company in France, who continue to produce instruments under the Besson name in the Courtois and other factories. The Schreiber company retained all the original Besson tooling, which is used to produce the York professional range of instruments. They are very popular as they continue the tradition of that true "British Brass Band" sound.

| C1350TR Peter Gane Compact Trombone |
 | C1350TR .Bb/C Compact model. Dual bore 12.7/ 13.34mm (.500"/.525") 203 mm (8") Red Brass Bell. This is the latest addition to the Peter Gane range of trombones. It is pitched in Bb with an ascending C valve. The instrument is shorter than a standard tenor trombone, but due to the innovative design, allows a full scale to be played by using the C valve instead of 6th and 7th positions.
The shorter slide , coupled with the specially designed curved braces, make the instrument very comfortable to hold and is therefore a perfect learning instrument for the younger player.
It is robustly made and includes nickel silver outer slides.
This style of instrument is very popular with teachers, but the price is usually prohibitive. We think our instrument offers the best quality and value for money on today's market.

| Alexander Model 97 |
 | This instrument is in good playing order, but is in "well used" condition. Several dents,pitting on the handguards and poor lacquer. You would normally expect to pay around £2000 for one of these , but the price depicts the condition.
The instrument can be overhauled and restored to top condition prior to sale, if the purchaser so wishes. Please telephone for a quotation.
The single Bb horn has much the same advantage of lightness that the single F horn offers. Single Bb horns are highly prized by "high" hornist because they can make strenuous challenges in opera or concert that much easier. Typically, single Bb horn will be found in chamber music and solo situations (see Model 90).
The sound of horns Bb is lean and supple. The notes in the low register below low Bb can be successfully played with a fourth extension replacing the stopping extension, or better yet-as with Model 97 with a separate extension extra fourth.
Models 89 and 90 can also be ordered with an extra set 3 of valve slides and main slide that convert the instrument into horn in F.
